Built by Baldwin and Grant between 1881 and 1882, The 85 locomotives of the Class 60 (later C-16) were the largest and longest-serving class on the Rio Grande steaming into the 1950s.

Several are preserved today. Now, their complete story is told in this new hardcover book by Jerry B. Day, noted Rio Grande historian and author of the acclaimed K-36 and K-28 books. Packed with hundreds of historical photographs, more than 200 pages of detailed information, and foldout drawings of the three surviving locomotives.
